Mistakes Wrong Practices by Workers of Tablighi Jamaat Advices by Scholar of Sunnah

Below is translation of a long letter written by The Great Hadith Scholar and compiler of Maariful Hadith 
Hazrat Maulana Manzoor Nomani. 

Maulana has replied  to an Islamic Scholar who has raised the issues of Mistakes of the workers of Tablighi Jamaat and some other issues.

(This letter is originally in Urdu and to the best of Our knowledge is being translated for the first time.
There are some similar short articles in 2-3 pages by Great Scholars clarifying the blessed effort of Dawah. If any brother/sister is desirous to translate into English. Please inform us on ittehadummat@gmail.com.)

 Maulana Manzur Nomani has detailed in this letter following point .........

1.The Areas and domain of work of Tablighi Jamaat and confusion created by name TABLEEGH.
2.What is the Proper Method of Conveying concern about the mistakes of common brothers or any issue about the Movement.
3. He has quoted Maulana Ilyas as accepting that there are mistakes by worker Maulana Ilyas  has said that work is like A WASHERMAN PLATFORM ALL TYPE OF DIRTY CLOTH COME HERE.
4.Maulana Manzur Nomani  mentions that sometimes the mistakes of a few are exaggerated and branded vastly.
5. There is no competition between Madaris/Tazkiya/Tabligh Work. Rather they are complimentary TO EACH OTHER.
6. It is right and duty of specialized people like Ulema ,Suleha and Scholars to make correction if something wrong is going on. But approach should be for correction and not criticism and the best way is to draw attention of Markaz Nizamuddin Delhi.
7. Manzur Nomani Rahimullah has even suggested to personally visit Nizamuddin for this great cause of Islah of the large number of Muslims attached with this Islamic movement .

8. The correction of Muslims and of Tablighi Jamaat is a collective Responsibility of all Ulemas and Scholars and general Muslims of Ummat. It is not a blame game.
Whatever is good should be appreciated and bad should be corrected.

A Request/Advice to general Muslims (Non Aalims) in the background of some recent discussion on internet.
1.Recently some well wishers of Ummat and the  work of Dawat o Tabligh has raised  some  issues of mistakes of workers on some public forum and consequently people with different background and understanding discussed it.And some avoidable and unwanted discussion took place.May Allah pardon all of us. 

STAND OF MARKAZ ELDERS IN THIS REGARD.............

1.It is for kind reminder for all of us that Markaz Nizamuddin knows only one word that is MUSLIM UMMAH. In their dictionary no one is TABLEEGHI/TABLEEGHI JAMAAT. 
All are Muslims only and all MADARSAS/KHANQAH/IDFFERENT MUSLIM ORGANISATION/ Islamic Scholars are on the one side of table. 
So no one is victim and no one is offender.If someone is offending any one that means he is offending all. e.g If someone is offending Madarsa he is also offending Tabligh and Vice Versa.

2. Markaz people pardon and have their heart clear from all Muslims , They do dua for all Muslims.

3. They want to reach with love to even those who do propaganda and rumours with baseless and absured allegations i.e. Calling them as grave worshiper ,Bigoted Hanafi , Gustakh e Rasool, Wahabi etc...........

Rather one Jamaat went to a country and wrote a letter with a sentence in it
Yahan.......................(Group name) Ka zor Hai"(Here ...............group is strong).

Nizamuddin Markaz ordered the jamaat to retun back telling" Apne ummat ko Baant diya Ab App ummat mein kaam nahi Kar sakte. Aap wapas chale Aiye."  
You have divided the Ummat and now you cant work in ummat

(As the matter has already come into public domain and has been discussed at length it is felt that from the perspective of Muslims Ummah something relevant to whole issue should be written in near future Insha Allahif Allah wills.)


2. As explained above and from the words of Maulana Ibraheem sb Dewla in Urdu Our elders of Nizamuddin also point out these mistakes of ours Maulana Zubair sb speech almost revolve around these only but they do in a different way as Maulana Manzoor Nomani Rahimullah has explained in this letter.


What to do if an Aalim raise these issues on Public Forum
1. Still if any Aalim/Mufti raise these matter in Public Forum it is his ijtahad and no general Muslim should tell anything to that Aalim/ by any means should not disrespect him. 

2. You can send him your request personally in this regard.You can clarify if you are anyway related to the issue. Afterwards there is no need of insistence on your advice. Mufti Mahmood Hasan Gangohi Rahimullah has given the guidelines on the same issue.

3.  No one should take it as that Aalim is against the work of Tableegh. He is advising for your benefit.Rather he is your well wisher. He wants to correct you for your Falah of Dunia and Akhirah. The only point is that he has done in public forum that is his ijtahad. 


4. In some other instances Even if someone Aalim/General Muslim apparently looks  against the work of Tabligh because of some misunderstanding it does not give us license/ permission to disrespect any scholar or even general Muslim. 

We have been taught lesson of Ikram e Muslim from our beloved Rasulullah ﷺ in which Respect of Aalim is at top. 
May Allah guide us.
Your action should convince him.Maulana Ilyas successfully utilized this formula for many.

(After reading the BELOW letter of this great scholar and well wisher of ummat Maulan manzur Nomani  

His advices touched my heart and I have decided the following at least to implement for myself
.
I will confirm and see the things at ground after getting any news. 
Suppose if someone say me that Tabligh people are against Madarsa but after confirmation  ......I see at ground that actually Tabligh people are sending their children to Madarsa most (I am telling about India)..... Specially among elites of Muslims society many of the Tabligh brothers are sending their wards to Madarsa. I personally know Chief Engineer of an Indian State,District Judges, Professors of Central Universities, Doctors and engineers attached with tabligh work sending their wards to Madarsa. I can start counting in my family and locality and it will be countless. 
 If I will consider that mistakes of the workers is at large scale 
1. I will visit Nizamuddin/at least write letter for the correction of these large number of Muslims. This is only way of correction. Nizamuddin Markaz is very receptive of these advices. I have personal experience.
And if I am considering that it is individual mistakes and not on large scale.
1. I will point out to the brother concerned and advice and counsel him instead of putting blame in public forums.

Misunderstanding can be in any .............Even Maulana Yusuf Rahimullah was not convinced initially 
But when Maulana understood the effort ............Dunia bhar mein Inqalab Barpa Kar diya ....
(Maulana Ali Miyan Rahimullah ne iski tafseel likhi hai Yhan padhein 

...Till Maulana Ilyas the work was very little outside the boundary of Mewat ........It was Maulana Yusuf who carried it to continents of the world. And added new horizons in the work keeping its Manhaj maintained. He was great Scholar of Hadith and good orator.

And as it ia Allah work so when people started thinking that work is going on because of the personality of Maulana Yusuf . By Allah decision he died prematurely at age of 50 years.
Maulana Inaamul Hasana Rahimullah was not a good orator but the work still spread ed at more Pace even more than Maulana Yusuf time.

So Allah is the only Doer  and it is his work. We should do a lot of supplication and Shukar and should seek forgiveness from Allah, that from our action there should not be a bad name for the blessed work of Dawah and Tabligh

Respected Honorable………..........Assalam O Alikum
I am seeking forgiveness for being late in reply of your letter because of my busy schedule. This letter is also being written in train while I am in travelling.
You have written some doubts about Tablighi Jamaat and its programme. You have written some complaints also.

You have addressed me as the caretaker or post holder of Tablighi Jamaat but without any humility (inkasar) I will tell that this is not my position. I consider this work as very blessed (Mubarak o Maqbool). I have highest degree of respect for this work but because of my special interest (Her was a prolific writer, actively involved in administration of big Mdarsas and editor of Al furqan Urdu magazine) and busy schedule I normally not able to take part actively. And this work of Tablighi Jamaat is totally by action (Amali) and there is no Post or position in it. That’s why I am not a right person for taking your complaints and advices.

Whatever issues you have you should write to (Bangle Wali Masjid) Markaz Basti Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia Rahmatullah Alaihi (A locality in Indian capital New Delhi India. Rather the best is to meet the Elders at Markaz Nizamuddin Personally and put your suggestions and issues.(He has mentioned the name of Maulana Yusuf Rahimullah here who has died but Alhamdulillah other elders are there.
But as I am very close to those who are active and leading the effort and know their ideas and conditions so I am replying these points.

I realized from your letter that most probably you do not know the reality of this work at all. You have made your mindset and stand is based on the popular name of it that’s TABLEEGH . And accordingly you have advised. Many of your opinion does not touch the movement at all. The detail discussion of yours on DAKHILI TABLEEGH (Inner invitation) and KHARJI TABLEEGH (Outer invitation) is the product of your misconception.

I have always been of opinion that this name TABLEEGH and those who are working in it as TABLIGHI JAMAAT is creating many confusion for many people. It cause many misconceptions. From the word TABLEEGH people think that it is a work of Preaching (Nassehat o Waaz) and TABLIGHI JAMAAT is a tem or Party of these Preachers.

That’s why they expect that they should have an upper level of knowledge required for Preaching /WAAZ/Naseehat. And practically in action (AMALI) they also expect that they should not have a visiblt shortcoming.1.In this background when they see someone in Tablighi Jamaat not even knowing Wazu Properly or their  appearance is not according to shariah they become extremely critical.2. They further become surprised after seeing them that they are insisting on others to spare some time from their busy schedule and to go in the path of Allah for near and far as they think that
If preaching Waaz and Naseehat has to be done then why not in our locality instead of going far away.

Bahar Haal.
All these confusion comes from basic wrong concept of considering Preaching/Waaz Naseehat as the work of Tablighi Jamaat.
Actually here the name  TABLEEGHI JAMAAT means
“Here  TABLEEGHI JAMAAT means a system of developing a deeni and Dawat Environment  in with a person will be with certain Usools will do the Aamal of Dawat Taleem o Taallum (teaching and learning) Ibadat and Khidmat (Service) .

With this environment it is expected to have an increase in 1. attachment to Islam, 2.increase in Emaan,(Belive in Allah and Rasool command and words), 3. reformation of Action 4.seeking of knowledge and 5.Islah e Nafs and the 6.development of Jazba of  sacrifice for Islam.

That’s why all muslims with whatever lag in his knowledge or action (Ilm o Amal ki Kmee) is not only invited rather sometimes pulled and no minimum condition is put as eligibility for going in TABLIGHI JAMAAT.it is expected that with this Environment he will take good effect and Allah the actual caller and the master of our heart will bless him with hidayat.

And that’s why in TABLIGHI JAMAAT all kind of and all strata of people are there.
However as you have written it is correct that sometimes in small public gatherings some people starts addressing who are actually not eligible at all for address. And they even don’t know the work of Tablighi Jamaat. They donot remain in the boundary of their knowledge in talk.
But as you are considering it as bad the Zimmedar brothers (Responsible Brothers)also consider it as bad and wants to correct it. They give instruction to Jamaat before its departure about the talk and if all the guidance is followed these mistakes will not happen. But the thing is these mistakes are not rare and this matter is really important for the Responsible Brother. My personal opinion is that apart from Advice if some written instruction is also given these things may be corrected to a greater extant.
Now I am turning to most important part of your letter.

You have written that Tablighi people are against the Madarsas and people of Madarsa and those who engage in it has no connection with Madarsas.
This is a very grave point and the level of research required to tell or write these conclusion (accusation )in my humble view you have not done that homework and you have written it without required homework.

If you point out a particular person associated with Tablighi Jamaat has this feeling then it is not very surprising . The all types and kind of Muslims that are found in our society all you can find in tablighi jamaat also. People of all temperament and background are present in our society and same you can find in Tablighi Jamaat also.
But telling that People associated with Tablighi Jamaat are against Madaris is a grave oppression (Zyadti ki baat).


You must have thought that many of those who are associated with work are themselves running Madarsa or teaching in Madarsas.
 Even the person leading the movement Maulana Yusuf Rahimullah is teaching in a Madarsa named KASHIFUL ULOOM. He give regular Dars in that Madarsa. The same condition is of his colleagues Maulana  Inamul hasan Sb and Maulana Ubaidullah Sb and others. You also consider me as associated with the work and you are well aware of my connection with the world of Madarsa. i.e I am  member of Majlis e Shura and Excutive  body of Darul Uloom Deoband. And I also have same position at Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema also.And for quiet sometimes I have also taken some teaching work.
You also must be knowing many persons who are associated with work and has responsibility of a Madarsa also. ………

In this situation telling Tableeghi people are against Madarsa is so wrong and absured statement.
In my perception (Two things are there)
1. Many Muslims in society who for one reason other  has something against the Madarsas /Madarsa System or people attached with Madarsas, These people at times may join Tabligh work with this background and they may utter something wrong about Madarsas
2.The second reason could be that at times it happens that a person who was having no attachment with deen at all and was spending a life of irreligiousness and was non practicing  Muslim and finally he goes into Jamaat and turns towards Islam.
Then he considers this work as the only Religious work (As this work has brought me towards Islam). And still further he sees that many of the Scholars and people of Madarsas actually having more responsibility of service of deen are not involved in this effort. So because of his ignorance and less knowledge he starts uttering criticism on them.

But based on my personal experience knowledge and testimony (Mallomat o tajurbon ki bina par Wasooq se) I can tell and telling with full conviction that as the connection with the work increases these peoples get corrected. And his felling and perception is get rectified.

Although like others many issues for the correction of this problem debate and argument is not utilized in TABLEEGH. Rather with their methodology it is tried to get it changed, this method by the grace of Allah remain successful most of the times.

I personally know many people who were a bet noir and critical of Madarsas and people of Madarsas (Skaht Bezar o Bebak Mutaarriz) but as they started attached and closer with the work their mindset got changed.
I myself has seen Maulana Ilyas Rahimullah that he used to be very careful that those who are involved in this work should have utmost respect for Ulema and Madaris. And Maulana Yusuf Rahimullah is also always caring for this.

You don’t know But let me tell that every month hundreds of people and Jamaats from different areas and section come to him and it is his regular practice upto his capacity to send them to Deoband and Saharanpur to visit the Ulemas and to see the Islamic seat of learning there.And by this way hundreds of people get acknowledged from Islamic seats of learning.
Even personally Maulana Yusuf Sb keeps his attachment with elders of Madaris of Deoband and Sharanpur and his approach in this regard, Then how a person attached to himm (Maulana Yusuf) has a counter view against Madaris.
Apart from this a marked and visible general deeni condition is being build up and every one should Realise and perceive it. I am surprised how people like you are not being able to see this.

It is as like I am seeing from my own eyes that Madaris are getting help from Tablighi Jamaat in the same way as farming gets benefit from favorable weather condition and Rain. I can name you hundreds of people Rather areas and places those were having no connection with Madaris or elders of Madaris The movement of Tablighi Jamaat created among them the religious zeal and they get acknowledged with the work of Ulemas and then students from these areas started coming to Madarsa and started doing service of deen.
In this connection it is important to be mentioned that in my observation the largest sum of help to our Madaris comes from Calcutta (Kolkata) and Bombay (Mumbai) and not as an estimation rather with firm information I can say that the money after the work of Tabligh is many times higher than before it.And many of the elders of Madaris also know that in this Service of Madaris people attached with Tabligh are play an important role

In this connection it is important to note for me and you that in this era only those Muslims who have no means to teach their children in Schools and colleges are finally coming to Madarsa.
Not only this rather people like us who has got education in madarsa are also sending their children in Colleges instead of religious education
in expectation of good livelihood .
In this terrible period many people who were full of resources to give good education in colleges.But with the Barkat of this Tabligh effort they are sending their wards to our Madarsas.

After considering all these Letus think that your complaint against Tabligh is ridiculous to what extent.
I am not telling by any means that Tabligh people are angels or wrongdoings are not happening in Tabligh work. Undoubtly in this work there happens many mistakes. And among those who have some connection with this work there are many bad people also.
The structure of this this movement is like, In the words of Maulana Ilyas “ This (Effort) is a washer man Platform All types of dirty, foul and filthy clothes come here.”
But the kind of complain and the way you have done is not correct at all. For many mistakes I myself point out to those who are associated with effort.
But there are certain things in which that a person who has not gone in Jamaat /actively participating will think of urgent change. But those who are actively involved will consider unavoidable. On these matter after giving youropinion you should rely on the Knowledge and ijtahad of the elders of Tabligh.

As I have said in the beginning any thing in this connection should be brought to the notice of Markaz Nizamuddin and not to me. And consider me as feeble.

Tablighi Jamaat Aim Objective Area of Work Tazkiah and Knowledge


Q.1 What is Tablighi Jamaat?What is Aim of Tablighi Jamaat

Answer
Tablighi Jamaat work is Multifaceted and have a combination of Dawat Tableegh teaching-Learning and Islah the Self Reformation with only intention to please Allah. It is a mass movement with idea of not to leave any section of Society.
Apart from Dawat o Tabligh activities it has two more primary objective that is closly related with Dawat o Tabligh.

1. Basic Minimal attainement of Self Reformation (Tazkiyah/Ihsan) in all Muslims.

 2. Basic Minimum level of attainment of Knowledge of Islam for all Muslims 

1. Attaing minimal level of Self Reformation by stress on following 
a) Our Heart should believe of Allah as a sole doer Allah can only give Loss and benfit. No other creation of Allah materials or human Jinnat can do any harm or benefit on its own but by will control and order of Allah. Our heart should say that any super power  and Atom bomb cannot harm us untill Allah decides so.All things are under the control of order and wish of Allah. We have to beltve him with all of his special attributes and Qualities and he is the only to be Prayed.(Koi Ibadat ke Layaq Nahin Siwaye Allah ke.
Our heart should have firm believe And only way of success is the way of prophet Muhammadﷺ .Try to follow the way of Prophet in all our action ranging from sleeping,eating,bathing,going to toilet, to our dealings,business,family and social relation. Prphet love and obedience should be basic foundation of our life and our heart should say that only way of success in this world and hereafter. And all other ways of living are leading to permanat failure.
We have to make our Emaan (Aqeedah) strong on six articles of Faith( Believe in Allah, his Prophet,Books,Angels,Resurrection and Qadr the destiny).
a)Performing five time Regular Salat with Jamaat and with Khushu and Khuzu (Quality of Ihsan)
b) cleaning heart by remembrance of Allah with zikr and Tilawat and Prophet dua for daily activities. (Their
c) Fulfilling the obligation of creation of Allah by Love and kindness for all human being, special respect to Muslims because of their Eeman, Respect for Ulemas and Pious Ahlullah for elders. Love for children and Family care as prescribed by Prophet.
d) All the action not for any show rather with sole purpose of Pleasing Allah
e) To show mercy and love for all human being and try to save all rom fire of the hell. For this do the dawah and Tabligh with sacrificing our Life and wealth. PARADISE FOR ALL MANKIND..This was the Motto of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihu wasallam.He even cried at the death of a Jew. We are his ummati Our concern should be same. To start simultaneously from ourself, family,locality,country to whole mankind till the day of Judgment. 
For attaining all these qualities they call to spare some times and going in the path of Allah for a short period and to practice the same while being at home with attaching yourself with Amaal e Muqami (Masjidwar Amaal at home)

1. Attaing minimal level of basic minimum required knowledge of deen by all section of Muslims Ranging from doctors engineers to rickshaw puller and street vendors.
There Model for achieving this goal.
Obviously it is a very big goal. If we think a while ..we will find ..The same objective was successfully attained by Prophet with his Sahaba. Among Sahaba there were people of different Level of Knowledge some were very knowlegable as Hadith mention about knowledge of Many of them.
But the minimum level of knowledge was with all Sahaba. No Muslim in first few generation was ignorant of deen as we see among todays muslims. Prophet developed a patter of teaching-Learning by interdependence.They were teacher and learner simultaneously.
So Many Ahadith give glance of this method of learning
There is Hadith in Bukhari Shareef about Hazrat Umar and his neighbour. People of Suffah. And not only that this was the learning method for tribes and community as a whole.
A long Hadith Narrates gives full picture of this instance. (Musnad Ahmad 3/432)

Shihab ibne-'Abbad Rahmatullahi 'alaih narrates that I heard a
man from a delegation of the tribe'Abad AI-Qais. He said: We went
to Rasiilullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam. The Muslims rejoiced
much at our coming. When we reached the assembly of people, they
made spacious room for us and we sat down there. NabT Sallallahu
'alaihi wasallam welcomed us and prayed for us......................(Then some other details are)


...........Then Nabi
Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam turned his attention towards the Ansar
and said: 0 People of Ansar! Treat your brothers generously for
they are Muslims like you in Islam............

(That delegation stayed with the Ansar).
Then in the morning, RasiiluIHih Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam asked
them: How did you find your brothers in treating and hosting you?
They said: They are very good brothers. They gave us soft bedding,
served us with good food, and taught us by night and day the Book
of our Rabb Tabaraka wa Taala and the Sunnah of our Nabi
Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam. Rasi.1lullah Sallallahu 'aIaihi wasallam
liked this, and was very pleased. 'Thcn he paid attention to us
individually. We told him what we had lcarnt and what we were
taught. Someone was taught, Attahiyiit, someone Surah Fatibah,
someone one Surah, some two Siirah, and some many Siinnah.

 Tablighi Jamaat  basic teaching-learning method is for common mass about basic of deen for those who have not got a chance to go in formal Madarsas /Islamic Education.
 That will not only include the illeterate but also those who are otherwise litterate even Elites Doctors and Engineers etc but not having the basic knowledge of deen.
 The knowledge of deen has no limitation and upper limit so As for Advance knowledge of deen After realising the importance of knowledge they encourage the people to strive themselves to attain themselves by attaching to Ulemas or by books of Ulma e Haq.
This method is based on the method of Sahaba era by interdependence.Those who have learned something will teach the same to others. This was the common method of learning of Sahaba and the first few generation of Muslims. Sahaba learned deen without any materialistic resources. Even the print copy of Quran was not there, Hadith collection was also not Popular Imam  Bukhari date of birth is  Friday 13 Shawwaal 194 (A.H) That means till 200 years after the prophet even Bukhari Shareef was not there but Islam spreaded to the nock and corner of the world within 200 years. 


(Scholars and Madarsa have to play most important Role in this system Actually they will be the best teacher  for common mass and Maulana Ilyas was intended to send one Aalim and one Qari with each Jamaat initially it was practiced But now Ulemas are not available in that Ratio to fulfill this Practically.May Allah make us understand and implement it.)

Follwing quote from Scholars will help to understand further the Movement of Tablighi Jamaat .
Maulana Ilyas said 

"The actual aim of this movement is to teach the Muslims everything with which The  Holy  Prophet Muhammadcame, (That is to get the Ummah attached to the complete system of thought and practice of Islam.) This is our aim. 
As for this movement of jamaats and Tablighi Gusht- these are the initial means of achieving this aim; and the instruction and teaching of Kalimah and Salah (Kalima Namaz correction) are, in other words, the ABC of our complete syllabus. 
It is also clear that our Jama'at cannot do all  the work. What can be done by them is only that where ever they go, they can only produce a motion and awakening by means of their effort, and attach those people. who are unmindful of  religious concerns, to the possessors of deen to their place- and can inspire those people
 of their place who have the worry for deen (i.e. ulama and reformers) for making efforts to reform the

This is also the way of one of the Sahaba.Normally Sahaba used to ask about good people, Hazrat Huzaifa Raziallahu Anhu used to ask from prophet about bad people/things/Fitnas so he could remain alert and could save himself and others)

(Obviously it cannot be generalised for all places but it gives an indicator about what is going on among Muslim Ummah)

1. In Jamaat In the remote Hilly village of south Indian state met A migrant muslim labourer from West Bengal approx 35 years. We requested to come to Masjid . It was post Asar Jamaat time After finishing tea with him I requested him to offer Asar prayer.
He went for Wazu ......He was not  knowing How to do Wazu Properly like.......... full hand with elbow has to be washed .......Proper method of Masah.

I didnt tell anything I requested him to see my wazu if any mistake plz point out ........

Finally Alhamdulillah he prayed Asar Prayer and made intention for being puctual in Namaz.

Our Jamaat was to return before Maghrib so we Parted away.

2. One old man (ignorant with modern mobile) was observing that a Muslim boy of (17-18 years) is busy with his advanced mobile surfing internet .

The old man asked me :  DO THEY SEE CINEMA ON MOBILE?
(In India among older people cinema word is common than Movies)

I replied:  
 It is more than Cinema ..........Film/cinema has at least a censorship..... but internet has no censorship.............

(This was not about the boy We dont know what he was seeing. )

But the thing is we have to be very carefull about our youth. They are at juction If we will not give them deen they will accept something else. Please be serious Start with yourself and Family ..........

It is a right occasion to discuss in Brief about Ijtema and its role in Effort of Dawat O Tabligh & Islah ............

Ijtema is a urdu word that in english is congregation.Any congregation can be called Ijtema But by common meaning it is called for Islamic congregation or meating. And literally also it has difference from conference word.

There is Popularly known Bishwa Ijtema, (Bangla: বিশ্ব এজতেমা)Alami Ijtema or (World Congregation) and small Ijtema are held all over the the world.Although the elders of Nizamuddin donot use the words like Aalami Ijtema/ Tablighi Ijtema but it becomes popular with these names.I would like to have a brief accout on Ijtema and its role in the whole effort of Tablighi Jamaat.


The work of Tabligh is based on the basic effort meeting Muslim Personally at their doorstep may be at houses Markets fields etc.

The basic pattern of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam work was to go to the people.People not desirous of deen But Prophets used to convince them. 
It is most difficult Job. 
If someone is having Desire (Talab) for deen for him/her road is very easy. He can go to Madarsa/Can learn from Ulemas directly or by books.

The main Problem is for those Who dont have Desire about deen. They are immersed in the wordly life no concern of life after death..........

These Could be of two category..
1.Druncard and bad element of Society

2. Otherwise good with respect to Wordly life. But no concern of LIFE AFTER DEATH.........Not attending Prayers......Means of earning is not Halal........Allah command and the way of Prophet is not in life and he is not aware also/Desirous.
They may include highest to lowest person of Society Doctors.engineers, Big or small buisenessman...........to the ricshawpullaer and Hawkers

To bring them to Islamic way is most difficult.
Personal contact with love and mercy and passion is the most effective tool for this section. Tableeghi Jamaat effort is most suitable for these sections................Maulana Mahmudul Hasan The Grand Mufti has compared the work of Tabligh as Rain that benefit  everyone.........

HAVING NO TALAB......INABAT.


Thats why they go in the Path of Allah and do these activities and while being at home daily meeting for giving Dawah is part of their shedule. and popularly known as Five Amaal that include Mashwara,Daily Islamic learning,Mulaqat(meeting Muslims),Weekly Programme in mosque and 3 days in a month in adjoining locallity within 5-10 Km.

Then what is Role of Ijtema in this Programmae.

1. .It is actually a training camp for Islamic way of Life.Actually the Ijtema also revole around the same Objective. It is not like other conferences having formalities of President /chief guest/Posters/Banners/Decorative Stage...........

2. The focus remain in Ijtema for sending Jamaats from Ijtema, To reach the general Muslim with the Amaal e Dawat and to encourage them to do after returning home. Ijtema is a place of motivation.

3. It also serves the Purpose of Ummathood as in big Ijtema People from all parts of the world Participate for a commpn issue of Allah way of life for themselves and for whole mankind till the day of Qiyamah.

Maulana Abul Hasan Ali Nadvi R.A. Describe it in these words.And he also narrate about the first Ijtema of this kind held in 1941 in Nooh district of Haryana near Delhi.
